John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him…
So when did He begin to love us? Is it when we repented or acknowledged that we were sinners?
We all have heard the story of the prodigal son dozens of times. Our elders/pastors always focus on how dumb the son was and how terrible his sin was. But what strikes me the most in Luke chapter 15 is "Heart of Good Daddy".
Even after being born again I continued to wonder - what is righteousness and sin? Was I always supposed to do everything right and perfectly because I am under HIS radar? I knew HE loved me but did HIS pleasure in me fluctuate according to my performance?
From the outside it may seem pretty awesome to loathe in all the attention that one gets in being a preachers kid. Some may be comfortable with the plastic smile and a perpetual sacrifice to be living for everyone else except for themselves- and some may think otherwise.
The wrath of God brings a picture of an erratic capricious deity, who loses His temper, and is out to get humanity. On the contrary, God’s wrath is devoid of any such unprincipled quality.
In the year 2009 during the global recession, I lost my lucrative job in a multinational company. Later contracted T.B. that made me bed-ridden for about 14 months. Being the sole-earner of the family, I sensed a strong force pulling me down to nothingness.
My problems were big and persistent too,
But not too big for my God to bring me through.
The clouds were still grey and yet so much had changed,
Drowned out by the rainbow and the reminders and reassurance it gave.
